HISTORY
The Black Walnut tree is a temperate zone forest tree found in North America. The Romans called the tree nux, for its 'fruit'.  The English name Walnut comes from Teutonic roots, with the German names Wallnuss or Welsche (meaning 'foreign') Nuss. According to the Doctrine of Signatures, the Walnut being the shape of the brain would be beneficial for all ailments associated with the head and brain.
