We put a hold on our solar hot water system and added more solar panels in a bit of a rush to the garden gazebo roof. BC Hydro changed the rules if you applied for solar after July 1, 2026 - instead of banking excess summer kwh to use in fall/winter now they pay you out $0.10 for excess every summer bill then in winter you buy power at $0.12-0.15 - doesn't sound like a deal does it? So we applied before July 1 and the old deal is good for 10yrs. Unfortunately this pushes our solar hot water project to 2027.
Total power is 7kw of panels and 6kw of AP Systems microinverters gridtie.
This brings our total panel power to 41.2kw. Awesome! Below is a recent day's solar statistics:
